FOREST MOUNTAIN NATURAL LANDSCAPE
This newly built home is located up on a small forested mountain with a very steep grade. The intent for the landscape was that it be kept as natural as possible to be in keeping with the home's setting. Large stone slab steps were installed to lead from the driveway to the front entrance. Granite boulders excavated during the house build were used to retain soil for garden beds. Naturalistic perennial gardens were installed with a focus on attracting birds, butterflies and other pollinators. Annuals were planted within the perennial pockets to provide interest as the perennials mature. A small meadow garden was installed over the septic bed on the south side of the home. A wooden deck, stone patio and stone fire pit are featured in the back of the home as an area to enjoy the heavily treed backyard.
