ECOSYSTEM KOI POND

This homeowner contacted Lavish Gardens when she bought her property and inherited a pond, complete with goldfish and koi. Unfortunately the pond was not in a satisfactory condition, as it was situated in an area that received heavy rainfall runoff and she was constantly struggling with algae and green water, unable to enjoy the fish that she had grown to love - especially a large koi which she named "Moby".

We suggested building an ecosystem pond for her koi utilizing wetland filtration that could accommodate a high fish load, and placing the pond in an entirely different area of the landscape  to, primarily, avoid stormwater run-off and ensure clean, high quality water for her pet fish but also to allow for easier interaction. We positioned the pond to be adjacent to an existing patio and fire pit, with waterfalls flowing towards the house so that they can be viewed and enjoyed from both outside and inside the home.
